The winning projects include two works-in-progress, and seven projects in development—reinforcing the Souk's dedication to nurturing cinematic brilliance and championing the next generation of storytellers.
The Souk opened its call for submissions to filmmakers across Asia for the first time this year, resulting in 28% of total submissions originating from the continent.
Participants will also benefit from a two-week trip to Los Angeles, where they will attend workshops and take part in the Film Independent Forum.
The workshop aligns with the RedSeaIFF’s objectives of promoting professional and talented writers and honing their skills in an effort to support the artistic and cultural community in the Kingdom.
The seven-month programme aims to create a platform for series/episodic writers.
The Red Sea Lodge Residency, which was due to take place at the Red Sea International Film Festival in March, will resume as a digital event on October 19.
