12 Years a Slave won the best picture award at the 86th Academy Awards, while Gravity won seven Oscars, including an award for Director Alfonso Cuaron. The film also won the best sound mixing, best sound editing, best visual effects, best cinematography, best film editing and the best original score.
Matthew McConaughey won best actor for his performance in Dallas Buyers Club. His co-star, Jared Leto, won best supporting actor, and the film won for makeup and hairstyling. 12 Years a Slave and Dallas Buyers Club, each won three awards.
Cate Blanchett won best actress for her performance in Blue Jasmine, while Lupita Nyong’o won the best supporting actress for her performance in 12 Years a Slave.
The best animated feature went to Frozen, it also won the best original song for Let it Go. The Oscars for the best costume design as well as best production design went to The Great Gatsby.
American Hustle and Wolf of Wall Street both failed to pick up an award.
