The Abu Dhabi International Environmental Film Festival (ADIEFF) organised by Media Lab has announced the addition of a new contest within the festival activities – Environmental Films from UAE. The festival that will be held from April 20 until April 25 aims to encourage professional filmmakers and amateurs from the UAE to produce specialised films about conserving the environment.
The total prize money for the contest is AED 240,000, which will be given away to the winners of three sections of long and short films (narrative, documentary and animation), a contest for amateurs short films and a contest for best scenario. The jury for this contest will have members elected by the ADIEFFs administration.
Films that address issues related to UAE environment and are produced in 2011 and 2012, will be eligible for the contest. A copy of the film must be sent for review to ADIEFF, along with a completed subscription form and the film brief before March 30 to be considered for the contest.
ADIEFFs administration has elected Pressman Amer Salmeen Al Marias a director of the contest.
