Titled 'Culture is Humanity, in Solidarity: Ramadan' series, the streaming online event, which began on May 5, will run until May 13.
In its first-ever Ramadan series, the Abu Dhabi Music and Arts Foundation (ADMAF) has announced a new Ramadan series of live, online performances set to take place during the month.
With artists who blend modern and traditional forms, ADMAF’s Ramadan series honours art and music, as well as the experiences and the creativity of the artists. Titled Culture is Humanity, in Solidarity: Ramadan series, the streaming online event which began on May 5 will run until May 13.
The series will see composer and opera star Hiba Al Kawas live-stream a special performance on ADMAF’s Facebook page at 10:00 pm on May 5 and 11.
On May 7 at 9:30 pm, international artist eL Seed and contemporary artist Dia’a Allam will collaborate in This Too Shall Pass, a live broadcast on Instagram. The artists will invite viewers to share a word in real time.
On May 9 at 9:30 pm, Sufi chanter Sheikh Mahmoud Tohamy will perform a concert Harmonies of the Heart which will include a set of religious poems and prayers with a modern touch. The concert will be streamed on ADMAF’s Facebook page.
On May 13 ar 9:30 pm, internationally renowned composer and singer-songwriter Sami Yusuf will perform his original work of the religious songs including Meditation, You Came to Me, Wanderer and Hasbi Rabbi on ADMAF’s Facebook page.
