ALTV.com, the digital TV platform for the Middle East and North Africa (MENA), has appointed Wafaa Loghmari as Executive Producer.
In her new role, Loghmari, 35, who has previously been working on the CBC show EL Duplex featuring the internet celebrity Abla Fahita, will create new flagship shows at ALTV.com.
ALTV.com has been facilitating people across the MENA to make their own content since its launch in June last year by Granahan McCourt Capital, the investor in technology, media and telecommunications.
I am thrilled to have this incredible opportunity to produce exciting new content with ALTV.com, which will grab audiences right across the MENA, said Loghmari. ALTV shares my very ambitious vision for fresh, vibrant and local new programming. I want to create content that appeals to a massive audience, using the amazing pool of talent among the new programme-makers and content-creators who are being empowered with the tools, training, resources and platform provided by ALTV.com.
Loghmari, who is from Tunisia and was educated at the Institut Superieur des arts Multimedia de la Manouba at the University of Tunisia, has experience in TV and digital production across the region.
Fluent in English and French as well as her native Arabic, Loghmari has worked in TV since 2006, producing a variety of shows, short films and documentaries. She previously worked as a producer for Handmade Studios, Big Production and Middle East Broadcasting Corp (MBC) making entertaining content that addressed a variety of issues such as relations between mothers and daughters and the challenges of the disabled.
Global media entrepreneur and Chairman of ALTV, David C. McCourt, said: Its great to have someone as enthusiastic as Wafaa on board. She is exactly what we need and will bring all her flair, imagination and programme-making experience to the amazing content we will be providing for audiences right across the region, which needs programming that is truly relevant and compelling.”
