The musical drama features newcomers Ehan Bhat, Tenzin Dalha, and Edilsy Varghese in lead roles.
Oscar-winning composer AR Rahman’s new romantic musical 99 Songs will be released in UAE cinemas this week. Apart from creating music and producing, Rahman has also co-written the screenplay of 99 Songs.
Set to hit cinemas on April 16, the film is being released in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu and stars first-time actor Ehan Bhat and actress Edilsy Vargas, who has only featured in one other film, Peppermint, alongside Jennifer Garner. Aditya Seal, Lisa Ray and Manisha Koirala will also star as part of the supporting cast.
99 Songs follows Jay’s journey whose life centres around music and his girlfriend Sophie. It is a story about the self-discovery of Jay who is a struggling singer and wishes to become a music composer.
Directed by Vishwesh Krishnamoorthy, the film has been presented by Jio Studios, produced by AR Rahman’s YM Movies and co-produced by Ideal Entertainment.
