The 22nd Arab Media Forum (AMF), the largest media thought leadership event in the region, is set to take place in Dubai from May 27 to 29, under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai.
Part of the Mohammed bin Rashid Global Initiatives, the forum aims to deepen insights into the region’s media landscape and its future trajectory, while shaping a visionary roadmap for the sector’s growth in alignment with the aspirations of the Arab world’s populace.
HH Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Second Deputy Ruler of Dubai and Chairman of the Dubai Media Council, highlighted the significance of the Arab Media Forum, initiated by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid over two decades ago. The forum serves as a platform for dialogue among Arab media leaders, fostering discussions on industry developments and the media’s pivotal role in regional transformations.
The event seeks to unlock new avenues for fostering growth, creativity, and excellence in the media sector, which profoundly impacts people’s lives by addressing pressing global issues, illuminating significant developments, and amplifying voices for progress and prosperity.
Mona Ghanem Al Marri, Vice Chairperson and Managing Director of the Dubai Media Council and President of the Dubai Press Club, stressed the importance of dialogue in crafting a unified strategic approach to advancing media growth amidst rapid global changes. This edition of the Arab Media Forum aims to spur media innovation by nurturing informed and skilled talent, serving as a pivotal platform for industry stakeholders to address vital issues impacting both the sector and Arab media audiences.
The forum will feature discussions analysing key political, economic, social, technological, and cultural developments driving the media’s transformation, as well as its role in shaping regional dynamics. Thought leaders, media personalities, editors-in-chief, influencers, scholars, writers, experts, and content creators from the UAE, the region, and beyond will convene for insightful deliberations.
The forum will also include the second Youth Media Forum on May 27, dedicated to empowering the next generation of media professionals and influencers, and the prestigious 23rd Arab Media Award on May 28, honouring outstanding achievements in the regional media industry. Additionally, the Arab Social Media Influencers Award ceremony on May 29 will recognise digital influencers’ contributions in various categories.
Dr Maitha bint Essa Buhumaid, Director of the Dubai Press Club (DPC), said this year’s agenda, which will focus on the rapidly evolving landscape of regional media, is being shaped in collaboration with media professionals across the region to accurately reflect the opportunities and challenges facing the sector.
