Co-founded by art curators Heba El Moaz and Sahar Behairy, ART 74 is a new art initiative that stands as a dynamic convergence point for diverse artistic realms.
ART 74 Visual Narratives, an art initiative and organisation committed to creating and fostering immersive visual narratives launched its first collaboration with the 45th Cairo International Film Festival (CIFF), under the patronage of the Egyptian Ministry of Culture. The initiative featured a series of art exhibitions, panel discussions and workshops by over 50 artists across five exhibitions. The exhibitions were held at CIFF’s Cairo Opera House, Downtown Cairo’s Cinema Radio, and Cairo Design District – CDD by LMD. The initiative also held its official launch party at CDD by LMD, attended by artists, several industry figures, such as actresses Darine Haddad, Hend Abdel Halim, Mirhan Hussein, and director Morad Mostafa.
Co-founded by art curators Heba El Moaz and Sahar Behairy, ART 74 is a new art initiative that stands as a dynamic convergence point, deliberately crafted to overcome the boundaries separating diverse artistic realms. With a keen focus on fostering cultural engagement, it seeks to bridge the gap between cinema and visual arts, showcasing an eclectic array of works from immersive installations that blur the line between viewer and creator to meticulously curated collections of paintings, miniature sets, and multimedia presentations inspired by cinematic storytelling.
ART 74 seeks to illuminate the shared threads that bind these distinct yet inherently intertwined forms of expression by fostering trans-generational dialogue and collaboration across the MENA region. Its main aim is to support emerging artists and get their work out to the world, as well as offer artists different educational programs, forge strategic partnerships and collaborations with renowned entities and institutions across different disciplines, and invite influential figures from the art and film communities to participate in this initiative to bridge the gap between cinema and visual arts.
Further, the initiative seeks to build relationships with festival organisers, curators, and key industry influencers to facilitate participation and collaborations as well as cultivate a loyal global audience through engaging online content, virtual tours, and interactive experiences.
