Barajoun Entertainment announces new film at DIFF

Barajoun Entertainment, a Dubai-based animation and visual effects studio marked its debut outing at the Dubai International Film Festival with the announcement of a new film for 2015 featuring Hollywood actor Adewale Akinnuoye Agbaje.

Addressing a press conference on the sidelines of the 11th Dubai International Film Festival, Ayman Jamal, Barajoun’s Producer and Managing Partner, announced the company’s partnership with Adewale Akinnuoye Agbaje for the new project.

Agbaje is notably remembered for starring in films such as Lost, The Bourne Identity and Thor. His forthcoming film Annie is set for a December 2015 release and will also feature in popular TV show Game of Thrones next year.

“We are extremely proud to be the first animation studio to come out of Dubai. At Barajoun, we recognise the potential of our region in adding value to the global entertainment landscape. We aim to celebrate the region’s rich history and culture by bringing together local knowledge and passion through leveraging international standards and capabilities to produce original and authentic films that serve as a regional showcase to the world,” said Jamal.

Commenting on the collaboration, Adewale Akinnuoye Agbaje, said: “I look forward to working with Barajoun on our upcoming film and being part of such a passionate team dedicated to telling the stories of real-life superheroes from the Arabian world. Telling these inspiring stories from such a diverse culture provides today’s youth with realistic, achievable, accessible role models – something I believe is really important.”

Barajoun Entertainment provides a full suite of animation and CGI productions from concept design to final render.
