CosmoBlue will also work with BBC Studios on the distribution of its linear channels, including BBC First, BBC Earth and CBeebies.
BBC Studios has entered into an exclusive strategic partnership with CosmoBlue Media aimed at significantly expanding both companies’ presence across the Middle East, North Africa and Türkiye. The collaboration brings together premium British content, regional market expertise and platform innovation to deliver a broadened entertainment offering tailored to audiences in the MENAT region.
Under the agreement, the partners will launch a new branded general entertainment channel, integrate BBC Player into CosmoBlue Media’s flagship streaming platform CosmoGO, and jointly distribute BBC Studios’ existing channel portfolio across linear and on-demand platforms. The partnership is designed to enrich the regional television landscape with BBC Studios’ globally recognised programming, curated to reflect local tastes while maintaining strong cultural relevance.
Berk Uziyel, Co-Founder and Group CEO at CosmoBlue Media, said: “We are happy to partner with BBC Studios and bring their incredible brands and content to the MENAT. This strategic collaboration reflects our shared belief in high-quality storytelling, cultural relevance, and platform innovation.”
Arran Tindall, President EMEA, Global Channels & Streaming, added: “This agreement delivers on our commitment across EMEA to pursue innovative partnerships that harness the full potential of our brands, premium content, and portfolio of linear and on demand products. It is a significant step in developing a greater business across the Türkiye and MENA region that enables our compelling content to reach and engage new audiences wherever they are and across all platforms.”
Bartosz Witak, SVP and General Manager for CEE & MENAT at BBC Studios, stated: “At BBC Studios, we believe that our success is deeply intertwined with the success of our partners. This new collaboration reflects our shared commitment to excellence and innovation, and we are confident it will elevate the presence of our entertainment brands across the market. Through joint initiatives, we will broaden the scope of our activities and deepen audience engagement with our channels. All of this is driven by our enduring mission to inform, educate and entertain – now with even greater impact.”
A central element of the agreement is the full integration of BBC Player, BBC Studios’ on-demand multi-genre service, into CosmoGO. The service will launch in both Türkiye and the MENA region, giving viewers on-demand access to a wide range of award-winning British dramas, documentaries and factual programming across devices.
Uziyel added: “BBC Player’s integration into CosmoGO offers an exciting opportunity to reach new digital audiences in Türkiye and MENA. Together, we are strengthening the digital ecosystem with curated experiences that elevate the viewer’s journey.”
In addition to streaming, CosmoBlue Media will work exclusively with BBC Studios on the distribution of several of its most popular linear channels. These include BBC First, which focuses on premium British drama; BBC Earth, known for high-quality factual programming exploring nature, science and the universe; and CBeebies, the children’s channel offering educational and entertaining content for preschool audiences.
The partnership extends beyond Türkiye into the wider MENA region, where CosmoBlue Media will support the distribution and management of BBC First, BBC Earth and CBeebies across multiple markets. This expansion is expected to broaden access to BBC Studios’ premium content for audiences throughout the region on both traditional television and digital platforms.
The alliance highlights both companies’ shared focus on content excellence, regional growth and innovation. It also supports CosmoBlue Media’s ambition to deliver diverse, cross-cultural programming, while reinforcing BBC Studios’ strategy to expand its footprint in fast-growing and dynamic international markets.
