beIN has announced the launch of an on-demand service that will give its subscribers access to more than 2000 programmes including 300 of the latest movies. Its on-demand products include a Box-office channel that will feature the latest Hollywood movies, subscription and transactional video-on-demand areas and well as ability to catch-up on any popular sports event, movie or drama series that was broadcast on the beIN bouquet.
An interesting element of the on-demand service is beINs electronic sell-through (EST) service, which allows its subscribers to buy, watch and keep the content they would like to own. The standard rate for renting a movie on the network is $4 while downloading it for the purpose of ownership has been set at $20, BroadcastPro ME can reveal. Different rates apply for box sets.
In order to encourage the use of beINs on-demand services, the Qatari network is offering a US$ 20 credit to its subscribers that can be utilised to watch content on its on-demand service.
beIN subscribers who have a box that connects to the internet will already have the service although it launches officially from March 1. Customers with legacy boxes will need to upgrade their devices to access the on-demand library.
Titles like The Amazing Spiderman, Moana, Billy Lynns Long Halftime Walk, Puertoricans in Paris, Passengers, Inferno and Doctor Strange are some of the latest movies that are part of the on-demand library. beIN has also collated content from its channel beJunior as well as partners like Dreamworks, Jeem and Baraem for children. Subscribers to Complete, Elite and Elite Duo will have access to beINs on-demand services as part of their current subscription.
In addition to this, beIN has added seven new channels to its entertainment bouquet. From the Fox stable, beIN now has Fox Action Movies HD, Fox Family Movies HD and FX HD. beIN Gourmet, a channel that is focused on cooking and recipes and targets a female audience, is now part of the bouquet. Alongside this, beIN has also added Euro News and TRT World to its bouquet.
