BeIN’s award-winning coverage of the FIFA World Cup 2022 will be replayed as-live, including all 64 games and four original documentaries.
In commemoration of the one-year anniversary of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, beIN Sports is set to transport fans back in time with an extensive month-long coverage starting November 20. This marks exactly 12 months since the tournament’s kickoff, which saw Qatar facing Ecuador and concluded with Lionel Messi leading Argentina to a historic victory against France in what is hailed as the greatest FIFA World Cup Final ever witnessed.
Recognised with numerous industry awards for its record-breaking coverage, beIN Sports is gearing up to transform its free-to-air channel into the “1 Year Anniversary of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 channel.” This special broadcast will feature all 64 matches, replayed as-live and in their entirety, maintaining the original kick-off times from one year ago.
Beyond the replayed matches, additional coverage will be available on beIN Sports 1 and beIN Sports ENGLISH 1, featuring FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022-related content in both Arabic and English. The programming will delve into the tournament’s highlights and explore Qatar’s legacy as a pioneering host nation. Among the highlights are four original World Cup documentaries produced by beIN’s streaming platform, TOD, including titles such as Arab Pride, A Tournament to Remember, Campeones Argentina, and A Lasting Legacy.
Furthermore, viewers can anticipate a one-hour special featuring over 120 guest presenters, analysts, and former players reminiscing about their most vivid memories from the month-long tournament. Confirmed stars making appearances include Brazilian World Cup winner Kaka, former Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger, and Argentinian legend Gabriel Batistuta.
Mohammed Al-Bader, Managing Director of beIN’s MENA Channels, said: “Close to a year has passed since the start of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 yet the excitement and pride of welcoming the world to Qatar and having the honour of showcasing every moment of the tournament both on and off the pitch remains fresh in the mind of all at beIN. We’re excited to be able to provide football fans with a chance to relive this amazing experience all over again: Every kick of the ball, every smile, every tear, and every piece of expert analysis all in one place. beIN is truly the home of football.”
