The announcement marks a fourth successive year that beIN is providing free-to-air coverage of the UWCL.
BeIN Sports has announced that it will broadcast all remaining matches of the ongoing UEFA Women’s Champions League 2024 (UWCL) on its free-to-air beIN Sports channel and official YouTube channel across the MENA region. This initiative is part of beIN Sports’ beINSPIRED programme, which aims to amplify under-represented sports and talent, particularly focusing on women in sports.
Launched in 2019, beINSPIRED has been instrumental in providing a broader platform for women’s sports, contributing to beIN Sports’ extensive portfolio of women’s sports rights across its 24 MENA markets and beyond.
This marks the fourth consecutive year that beIN Sports will offer free-to-air coverage of the UWCL. The growing interest and popularity of the women’s game in the region are evident, with nearly 2m viewers tuning in to watch last year’s UWCL final, where Barcelona emerged victorious.
The quarterfinals of the UWCL are set to kick off on March 19, with Ajax hosting Chelsea and Benfica welcoming Lyon. Reigning champions Barcelona will travel to Brann, while PSG will face Hacken the following day.
BeIN Sports boasts one of the most extensive portfolios of women’s sports rights in global broadcasting. Among its acquisitions is Formula 1 ACADEMY, the female-only single-seater racing championship founded by Formula 1. Furthermore, beIN Sports holds the rights to prestigious events such as the UEFA Women’s EURO and FIFA Women’s World Cup.
In the coming months, beIN Sports will continue to champion women’s sports, showcasing top talents competing in events such as the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, AFC Women’s Under-20 Asian Cup Uzbekistan 2024, FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup Colombia 2024, FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup Dominican Republic, as well as three remaining Grand Slam tennis tournaments and the Billie Jean King Cup. Additionally, viewers can expect year-round live coverage of the Premier Padel Tour.
