The new four-year agreement extends a trusted partnership and reaffirms Blue Lucy’s pivotal role in supporting Banijay Rights’ daily operations across its expansive content portfolio.
Blue Lucy has renewed its long-standing partnership with Banijay Rights, the global distribution division of Banijay Entertainment, through a new four-year agreement that extends their collaboration and reinforces the company’s integral role in supporting Banijay Rights’ media operations.
At the core of this relationship is Blue Lucy’s BLAM platform, a purpose-built integration and orchestration engine designed for high-volume media workflows. Deployed in a hybrid cloud and on-premises setup, BLAM seamlessly manages AWS S3 cloud storage alongside on-site Quantum systems. It enables cost-efficient processing of media while streamlining tasks such as content adaptation, localisation, compliance, rights management, and multi-format delivery across international markets.
Since its original implementation, the platform has dramatically scaled in line with Banijay Rights’ expanding content catalogue. Without the need for additional computing resources, BLAM has handled a nearly 300% increase in asset volume, growing from around 250,000 assets to close to one million. It now manages over 550,000 hours of media, including 360,000 hours of finished video content.
In the last year alone, BLAM facilitated 1.3m workflow executions and over 13m microservice runs, demonstrating its capacity to perform under large-scale operations. Its adaptability was further highlighted by more than 2,500 workflow configuration changes during the same period, illustrating the system’s agility in responding to shifting operational demands.
Julian Wright, CEO of Blue Lucy, said: “Banijay Rights is a world-class distribution organisation , and we’re incredibly proud to continue supporting their global operation. The numbers speak for themselves, and this renewal reflects the strong collaboration we’ve built over recent years, as well as the strength of our shared commitment to innovation and agility. In the past 12 months alone, the system has handled 1.3m workflow runs and over 13m microservice executions. It truly is a platform which performs at scale for Banijay Rights. Perhaps most tellingly, there were more than 2,500 workflow configuration changes made in just one year – proof of the agility, responsiveness, and operational flexibility our platform enables. BLAM truly is a vital performance engine for Banijay Rights, and we’re proud to play a part in getting their content to screens around the world.”
Richard Clarke, Head of Content Operations, Banijay Rights, added: “In our business, operational excellence is paramount. Blue Lucy consistently provides the speed, precision, and agility required to support our constantly evolving distribution needs. Their technology underpins key aspects of our global operations, with a platform that adapts effectively to our evolving requirements. Their responsiveness and ability to tailor solutions have contributed to improved operational efficiencies and measurable improvement in distribution workflows. We look forward to building on this trusted partnership.”
