The series will be directed by Shujaat Saudagar ('Rock On 2') and have ten episodes in season one.
Bollywood production Dongri to Dubai, which is being produced by actor Farhan Akhtar’s Excel Entertainment production company, has resumed shooting after Covid-19 restrictions were lifted.
Dongri to Dubai is an upcoming web series, adapted from Hussain Zaidi’s book “Dongri to Dubai: Six Decades of the Mumbai Mafia”. It revolves around the life of underworld don, Dawood Ibrahim, and how he has become one of the most feared mob bosses of his time.
Akhtar took to social media to share his enthusiasm for returning to the sets and shared a video of how his production house is dealing with safety issues amid the pandemic.
In a tweet, Akhtar said: “Getting back to work is a relief and a joy but given the times we’re in, it’s important to be socially responsible and keep the environment hygienic for all crew and cast. They work to create. We work to keep them safe.”
The makers are adhering to government guidelines and taking additional precautions while also ensuring the safety of cast and crew.
