Early bird submissions are now open until May 31, 2025.
The Cairo International Film Festival (CIFF) has officially opened film submissions for its 46th edition, which is scheduled to take place from November 12 to 21, 2025. Filmmakers from around the world are now invited to submit their works through the festival’s official website, with the submission window remaining open until August 1. An early bird submission period is available through May 31.
Speaking about the event, Hussein Fahmy, Festival’s President, said: “We are pleased to announce the opening of submissions for the 46th edition of Cairo International Film Festival. We look forward to receiving fresh and diverse films that reflect unique cinematic perspectives and a wide range of cultures. We believe that cinema is a universal language, and the festival remains a vital platform for artistic exchange and creative dialogue between filmmakers and audiences.”
Artistic Director Mohamed Tarek added that preparations for the 46th edition are already in motion, with the programming team working diligently to craft a distinctive lineup. He highlighted the consistent emergence of new talents and cinematic discoveries through the festival’s submissions process each year, reinforcing CIFF’s role in supporting and spotlighting global voices.
Founded in 1976, CIFF has established itself as a major cultural institution and is widely regarded as one of the leading film festivals in the Arab world and across the African continent. It holds the rare distinction of being a Category A festival, officially accredited by the International Federation of Film Producers Associations (FIAPF).
