Turner Broadcasting System (TBS) has launched a new website for Cartoon Network Arabic. The launch was part of TBSs revamp and redesign of all Cartoon Network websites globally.
The new website, which is available exclusively in Arabic, can be visited at the same domain which hosted the networks previous website: www.cartoonnetworkarabic.com.
The website has been designed to provide simplified site navigation and enhanced search capabilities to make it quick and easy for kids to interact with their favorite Cartoon Network Arabic shows and characters, play the wide range of available games and download the fun and interactive applications.
In the coming weeks, and as phase two of the new website roll-out, a version specifically adapted for optimal functionality and viewership on mobile phones and tablet computers will be made available for anyone who prefers visiting the website on their portable devices.
The launch of Cartoon Network Arabics new regional website is a testament to the networks dedication to keeping up with the times and adapting to the nature of our regions youth, said Tarek Mounir, General Manager, Turner Broadcasting System Turkey, Middle East, North Africa, Greece and Cyprus.
Mounir added: Taking into account kids tech savviness, their frequent use of mobile phones and tablets as well – three freedoms that many parents grant their children – we have no doubt that the new features which will be made available during phase two of the website launch will only increase its region-wide popularity.
Cartoon Network Arabic website received over 505 million total page views and averaged 1.5 million unique views per month during 2014.
The website is continuously updated with new online games for kids in addition to details, descriptions, screenshots and app store links to additional downloadable mobile and tablet games. Over 1.8 million mobile apps have been downloaded by users in the Middle East and North Africa, and the many games hosted by the website were played 144 million times throughout the year a testament to the popularity of the website.
The website also provides specific pages or microsites – for each show that is broadcasted on the free-to-air channel. Each microsite contains a wide range of diverse content specific to the show ranging from images and videos of the cartoons characters to online games and details on mobile and tablet apps themed around the show itself.
Show timings, episode previews and other information on each show can also be found on the website, and will be continuously updated in real time to reflect all changes made to the channels show lineup and schedule. Finally – and as part of Cartoon Network Arabics commitment to raising the awareness of the regions youth – parents and their children can find tips on how to safely browse the internet.
