Waleed bin Ibrahim Al Ibrahim, Chairman of MBC Group, has been honoured with the Cultural Institutions Award (For-Profit) at the 2024 National Cultural Awards. The event, held under the patronage of HRH Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, took place at the King Fahad Cultural Centre in Riyadh earlier this week.
In his acceptance speech, Al Ibrahim expressed his deep gratitude to the Saudi Ministry of Culture, led by HH Prince Badr bin Abdullah bin Farhan Al-Saud, for the recognition.
MBC Group’s Chairman stated: “I am deeply proud, honoured, and inspired by this recognition from the Ministry of Culture in my beloved homeland. It is a tremendous source of pride that this award acknowledges the contributions of MBC Group to the cultural renaissance of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Arab world over the past 33 years. It also highlights the significance of our role in shaping the region’s creative landscape and stands as a true testament to the collective dedication and tireless efforts of all my wonderful colleagues at MBC Group throughout the decades.”
Al Ibrahim continued: “This award is not just a major milestone for us; it is a responsibility. It inspires us to continue to push forward, and to elevate our achievements, success and leadership. As we look to the future, we are wholly committed to advancing with clear, strategic steps that focus on diversifying income streams and investing in knowledge-driven economies. Along this journey, I promise that we will continue to realise our vision by empowering the next generation of Saudi talents across all sectors, ensuring that our message of innovation and cultural leadership resonates both locally and globally.”
He concluded: “To everyone who has placed their trust in MBC Group, I assure you that we remain committed to sharing the diverse and inspiring stories of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, both regionally and globally. We will continue to deliver the best standards in media to audiences far and wide. The wonderful transformation our nation is experiencing today – thanks to Vision 2030 and the brilliant visionary leadership of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud (may Allah protect him) and HRH Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman – is a positive beacon of inspiration for the world.”
Now in its fourth edition, the National Cultural Awards celebrate exceptional achievements in the arts and culture sectors, recognising individuals, groups and institutions. According to the Ministry of Culture, the awards aim to promote outstanding cultural content and support winners through sponsorship, media exposure and representation at national and international cultural events.
The awards are a key component of the National Strategy for Culture, which seeks to foster creativity, community engagement, economic growth and cultural pride, in alignment with the Kingdom’s Vision 2030. The Cultural Institutions Award (For-Profit) recognizes private sector institutions that actively contribute to the growth and development of Saudi Arabia’s cultural landscape.
