Designed to streamline and clarify co-productions, Project Salon lets verified members upload full project packages and specify the partnerships they seek—from co-producers and distributors to brand integrations and investors.
Co-Production Salon, the MENA region’s independent B2B platform focused on fostering co-production and partnership opportunities in film and television, has officially launched Project Salon during the Cairo International Film Festival (CIFF). The launch, held on the Cairo Film Market stage at the Sofitel Hotel by the Nile, was attended by Egyptian screen icon and CIFF President Hussein Fahmy, highlighting the initiative’s regional importance and its alignment with the festival’s goal of amplifying Arab storytelling worldwide.
Project Salon is designed to streamline and professionalise the co-production process by enabling verified members to upload complete project packages, including pitch materials, production schedules and funding milestones. Users can also specify the types of partners they are seeking, such as co-producers, distributors, equity investors or brand integration opportunities, creating a transparent environment for collaboration.
To maintain project integrity and reassure potential investors, submissions must meet two requirements: securing at least 10% confirmed financing and demonstrating a proven track record, with the submitting company having produced at least one commercially released film or series available on a platform, television channel or in cinemas. Projects that fall outside commercial distribution — including short films, social media content, YouTube-only releases and promotional pieces — are not eligible.
Beyond hosting projects, the platform offers real-time analytics that allow producers to monitor engagement from prospective partners. Premium users gain deeper insights into where interest is coming from, enabling more targeted financing strategies and improving the visibility of investment-ready projects.
By curating credible, commercially viable submissions, Co-Production Salon continues to strengthen collaboration between Arab and international markets, connecting producers, studios, financiers and global media partners.
Speaking about the initiative, Heba Korayem, Founder of Co-Production Salon, said: “Our goal is to turn creative ambition into bankable opportunity. Launching Project Salon on the Cairo Film Market stage — in the presence of Festival President Hussein Fahmy — marks an important step in building a structured, trusted co-production ecosystem for Arabic content.”
