Abhijit Dey, general manager and chief operating officer, will lead Perifery, a division of DataCore Software.
DataCore Software has launched Perifery, a new division committed to high-growth edge markets. Initially, Perifery will serve the media and entertainment market, followed by health care, retail, and manufacturing in the near future.
Perifery offers edge devices and solutions for media and entertainment that speed up content monetisation and provide high-growth industries with more cost-predictable storage, AI services, and preprocessing technology options.
Dave Zabrowski, CEO of DataCore, said: “Building on the recent acquisitions of Object Matrix, Caringo, and MayaData, Perifery was created to bring a clear focus and attention to the needs of high-growth, data-driven markets. With the launch of our Perifery division, we’ve invested in extremely talented and experienced individuals in the space, and we look forward to bringing innovation to the edge.”
Perifery is led by Abhijit Dey, general manager and chief operating officer, and an experienced leadership team with decades of expertise in storage workflow solutions. Perifery is backed by worldwide distribution, with over 400 channel partners and a group of engineering, sales, and marketing executives.
Dey added: “Gartner predicts that by 2025, over 50% of enterprise-managed data will be created and processed at the edge. With the Perifery family of workflow solutions, we are addressing the evolving requirements of high-growth edge markets while helping customers avoid unpredictable public cloud service and transfer fees. We’re excited to introduce the Perifery vision to the media and entertainment market at the 2023 NAB Show in Las Vegas.”
Perifery is accelerating the customer journey from the core to the edge and cloud. Turning technology barriers into breakthroughs, Perifery is redefining how storage resources are best utilised to ensure optimal results and the lowest cost for customers.
DataCore partner ATTO Technology voiced its support for the company’s new division dedicated to high-growth edge markets. “We love the direction that Perifery is taking digital workflows,” stated Tim Klein, president and CEO of ATTO Technology. “The solutions, such as the Perifery Transporter and the Perifery Appliances, pave the way for content creators to save time and money while protecting and preserving their valuable assets.”
Perifery will showcase its latest innovations in workflow solutions at the 2023 NAB Show in Las Vegas.
