Saudi Aramco appointed Electronic Special Equipment (ESE) to install 140 conference units in the newly renovated auditorium at the Exploration and Petroleum Engineering Center (EXPEC) in Dhahran. Electronic Special Equipment (ESE) a long-term partner of Scandinavian conferencing manufacturer, DIS, installed the DCS 6000 system.
The project had its challenges including the task to integrate conferencing electronics in the armrest of a comfortable auditorium chair so it wont appear obtrusive. ESE initiated a direct link between DIS and Race Furniture Limited in the U.K., to ensure the “perfect fit” before the installation process took place.
With two delegates sharing one microphone, theres a HM 4042 handheld mic connected to a MU 6040 electronic box in each second chair. All units are connected to a CU 6011 control unit with cost effective CAT 5e cabling. The modular hardware and software ensures that the client has only paid for what Saudi Aramco really needed, according to a DIS spokesman.
The DIS Software SW 6000 was delivered with necessary microphone and mimic control as well as an agenda handling module, display application and external control application.
