Based in London, Bernardini will report to Benjamin Causse, senior vice-president of business development for EMEA.
Sports streaming technology company Deltatre has appointed Giancarlo Bernini, a former senior executive at WWE and Sony, as commercial vice-president.
Bernini will be responsible for engaging the Bruin Capital-owned company’s clients across the media and telecoms sectors. He will be working with companies around the world, across mature and emerging markets.
He will be based in the firm’s London office and report to Benjamin Causse, senior vice-president of business development for EMEA.
Bernini brings over two decades of experience in relevant sectors, having worked in various commercial roles across sport, entertainment and media. His last full-time role was with WWE, where he headed marketing and commercial operations for Europe and sub-Saharan Africa between 2016 and August 2021.
Before that, he worked as head of global sponsorship and partnerships at Sony for five years, while the longest spell of his career was six years in various positions at Visa Europe.
Commenting on the role ahead, Bernini said: “I hope to use my experience of working with renowned brands that utilise cutting-edge technology. It’s an exciting time to be joining Deltatre, with the company expanding its reach and client base around the world. It’s my ambition to develop strategies alongside our partners which benefit from our best-in-class video experience suite.”
Benjamin Causse added: “Hiring Giancarlo is a significant step for Deltatre. He has incredible experience and an encyclopaedic knowledge of our industry. We know that our clients across media and telecoms are not only focussed on their infrastructure but prioritising building deeper customer relationships as user behaviour changes. Giancarlo is perfectly placed to assist those companies to achieve that.”
