Arabian Radio Network, which recently consolidated its operations at a single, flagship location in Dubai Knowledge Village, has gone live with IDS at the core of multiple workflows within the facility.
Dubai-based Arabian Radio Network (ARN) has deployed IPEs Intelligent Display System (IDS) at its brand new facility in Dubai Media City as part of a larger installation.
ARN, which runs nine FM stations, previously had its operations spread across multiple sites. Recently, the network consolidated its operations at a single, flagship location, which has now gone live with IDS at the core of multiple workflows within the facility.
Speaking about the installation, ARN’s General Manager, Mahmoud Rasheed, said: Flexibility is one of the key things we look for in a product. We are always looking ahead to future developments and dont limit our requirements to functionality only or tie to a single manufacturer or system for decades.”
Executive Director of Broadcast and Technology, Essa Darwish, added: The best products are open to many types of integration; consolidate superior technologies; and, of course, have everyday functionality that offers a great user experience. IDS seamlessly brings together multiple workflows and products and greatly simplifies complex broadcast operations.
IDS is a scalable, network-based display and control system designed specifically for broadcast applications, radio, television, or otherwise. It is a highly intelligent, modular display and control system that can be tailored to fit any installation.
Reuben Such, Head of Sales and Support at IDS commented that the IDS system “simplifies the complicated, enabling any user to easily navigate through operational menus”.
“In addition to the elegant and intuitive design of IDS itself, we are very happy to closely integrate with any vendor and work with them to tailor IDS to their precise requirements, rather than them having to compromise what they want to incorporate IDS.
Darwish added: Being open-minded to this level of integration and experimentation is often ignored by some vendors, but IPE is just the opposite. They have a great product already in IDS but will work very hard above and beyond what others would offer to ensure complete satisfaction. In the course of this process, which was a lot of fun, I have also been astounded at just what IDS can do that we had never envisaged. You may never need it, but if you do, its easy to extract a lot of extra bang for your buck in IDS.
ARNs new facility includes more than 41 multi-platform radio, production and visual studios. Its new operational hub is reportedly built to support multiple platforms, with more than 50 cameras capturing the on-air content and informing consumers via social media platforms and the station’s web sites.
The new ARN headquarters unifies the network into one single media hub so the content creators, marketing, sales, finance, broadcast technology and management functions all operate from one site.
ARN broadcasts 18 radio stations including nine FM brands to more than 200 nationalities a day, representing the range of communities that live in the country.
