The event aims to serve as a platform to introduce and share Korea’s vibrant film industry with Egyptian audiences, highlighting the diversity and creativity of Korean filmmakers.
The Korean Cultural Centre in Egypt hosted the ninth edition of the Korean Film Nights event from November 21 to 24 at Vox Cinemas, Al Maza. The event coincided with the 10th anniversary of the establishment of the Korean Cultural Centre.
The event aims to serve as a platform to introduce and share Korea’s vibrant film industry with Egyptian audiences, highlighting the diversity and creativity of Korean filmmakers. Each year, audiences are treated to a selection of Korean films, ranging from thought-provoking dramas to thrilling action and heartwarming stories, offering a window into Korean culture and society.
Seven diverse films were screened in this year’s edition. These included Concrete Utopia, The Girl on a Bulldozer, Sleep, Single in Seoul, Next Sohee, My Heart Puppy, and Dr. Cheon and the Lost Talisman.
Speaking at the event, Oh Seung-ho, Director of the Korean Cultural Centre in Egypt, said: “This event provided a great opportunity for the Egyptian audience to discover the beauty and diversity of Korean cinema. We will continue to work on presenting more events that enhance cultural exchange between the two countries.”
