Fujairah Media Group (FMG), the Fujairah-based Broadcasting Corporation formed as a joint venture between the Fujairah Cultural and Media Authority and Arab International Media Services, plans to launch at least two more new radio stations as part of its expansion plans for 2011.
In Jan 2011, FMG acquired a stake in Virgin Radio Arabia in Jordan and is handling the complete day-to-day management of its operations as it continues to build on its international radio broadcasting lineup.
Fujairah Media manages a Free Zone in Fujairah known as Creative City, a media management and technology cluster that features dedicated zones for Audio Visual, Publishing, Training, Theatrical Arts, Design and Graphics, Technology and IT, and Cinema.
Over the past years, we have been carefully plotting out the components of Creative City, and 2010 was an opportunity for us to roll out some of its major offerings such as Krazee TV and 92.6 FM radio. In 2011, we will see more key pieces fall into place to
establish our Group as a highly respected member of the Middle Easts rapidly growing media industry. We also look forward to further highlighting Fujairahs business potential especially in new markets of which Africa is our main focus, commented Mekki Abdulla, CEO, Fujairah Media Group.
