Both 'Persona' and 'Mémoire Vive' are entering production during this half of 2024, with the former filming 22 episodes and the latter four.
French broadcaster M6 has given the green light to a French-language adaptation of Beta Film‘s International Turkish thriller series Persona, set to be titled Mémoire Vive.
Diverging from the male protagonist of the Turkish version, Mémoire Vive will feature a female lead character named Esther Lefevre, portrayed by Clementine Celarie, known for her roles in Six Women, Betty Blue, and Two Is a Family.
Produced by Calt Studio, Mémoire Vive will consist of four hour-long episodes. The series is scripted by Laurent Burtin, Anne-Gaëlle Daval, and Hélène Lombard. Arnaud Malherbe will take the helm as director. Production is slated to commence in the first half of 2024.
The original Turkish iteration, produced by Ay Yapim, is gearing up for its second season. Persona has been sold by Beta Film across Europe and to the US, Canada, and Japan.
Haluk Bilginer won the International Emmy for his performance as Persona’s antihero Agâh in 2019.
In the upcoming season, Agâh, grappling with Alzheimer’s, begins to recollect his memories gradually under his daughter’s care. Unaware of the enemies he has made in the process, Agâh embarks on a quest to navigate newfound freedom while facing looming threats of revenge.
While the first season was produced for Turkey’s Puhu TV, the second season is under production by Gain.
