Global OTT TV episode and movies revenues is to increase by $81bn reaching $235bn by 2028, according to the latest report by Digital TV Research.
The media research firm predicted that the revenues will rise from the $154bn recorded in 2022, with approximately $17bn added in 2023 alone.
AVOD will grow faster than SVOD, with revenues reaching $91bn by 2028, up by $50bn from $41bn in 2022. This growth is nearly twice as much as SVOD.
Commenting on the findings of the report, Simon Murray, Principal Analyst at Digital TV Research, said: “From the 138 countries covered, the top five will command two-thirds of global revenues by 2028. This proportion is down from 73% in 2022; revealing that the rest of the world will grow faster.”
