Initially, Jafri worked in consumer electronics, then in supply chain of STB, encryption technology, and OTT/IPTV sales.
Gospell Technologies – China has named Samul Jafri as Sales Director for the MEA region. He has more than 17 years of experience in the broadcast industry, 13 of which were gained in the set-top box distribution industry.
Since its establishment, Gospell has been engaged in the R&D, production and sales of DTV software and hardware products.
With 16 years of experience in the Middle East and Africa region, Jafri manages the sales activities for Gospell’s Middle East and Africa business, commercial channel development, and technical service (b2b-Commercial and Consumer).
During his career, Jafri has worked across various functions to understand the inner workings of the sector. He began in consumer electronics, before moving on to the Supply Chain of STB, Encryption technology (CA/DRM), OTT/IPTV Sales.
Speaking about his role, Jafri said: “Experience has shown me that the MEA region presents brands with a unique set of opportunities, which I’m thrilled to be helping Gospell capitalise on. The television sector in MEA is going through a massive transition in past few years. Also, the markets in MEA, which has been relatively stable and dominated by free-to-air, direct-to-home (DTH) broadcasting, is increasingly populated by the new pay-TV (DVBT2 /DTH) and OTT players.”
