IBC2017 has announced a record number of visitors to this year’s event at the RAI, Amsterdam. Over the six-day event from September 14-19, 57,699 people visited the RAI Exhibition and Convention Centre in Amsterdam.
Visitors to the 15 exhibition halls witnessed new launches; from the Launch Pad with its record number of exhibitors; the Future Reality Theatre; and the free programmes on offer at the Content Everywhere Hub.
Conference delegates packed the Forum to hear from experts from Facebook, Google, CNN, HTC Viveport, Dolby, C4 and ITV to discuss and debate the topics challenging the industry with a focus on media convergence and global transformation.
Elsewhere, the IP Showcase saw large audiences attend real-world demonstrations of proven IP end-to-end workflows for production and playout.
IBCs inaugural Startup Forum attracted more than 75 startups and growing businesses were selected from 22 countries, across areas including VR/AR, sports, micro-payments, marketing, streaming video and publishing.
Emphasising the 50-year milestone, Michael Crimp, Chief Executive, IBC, said: “IBC 2017 celebrated its 50th anniversary with record attendance, bustling exhibition halls, new features and a dynamic conference. Now we look to the future and continue that conversation via our online community IBC365.”
IBCs three new initiatives were a huge success, Crimp added, with the IP Showcase, Startup Forum and C-Tech Forum welcoming large audiences.
The IBC 2018 conference will take place from September 13-17, 2018, with the exhibition running from September 14-18, 2018.
