The film has won a slew of awards at various fests.
The critically acclaimed Jordanian film Inshallah a Boy by Amjad Al-Rasheed won the Best Screenplay Narrative Feature Award at the sixth edition of the Mystic Film Festival, which took place from October 19 to 22, 2023, in Connecticut.
This latest accolade adds to the growing list of achievements for the film, which previously made history in Jordanian cinema by winning two awards — the Gan Foundation Award and the Rail d’Or Award for Best Feature Film — during its world premiere in the Cannes Film Festival’s Critics’ Week, marking the first entry of a Jordanian feature film in the prestigious festival.
It also received four other awards — including the Jury Prize at the Paysages de Cinéastes Festival in France and Best Actress at the Rotterdam Arab Film Festival — and has been screened at several renowned film festivals, including Karlovy Vary, Melbourne, BFI London, Sydney, Toronto, Hamburg, New Zealand, and World Cinema Amsterdam.
