Lebanese female dance group Mayyas has created history for the Arab region by winning season 17 of America’s Got Talent.
The MENA viewers can replay the historic performance exclusively on TOD, which streams the entire Season 17 of America’s Got Talent for the region.
The group take home the $1m prize, as well as get the opportunity to headline a Las Vegas show.
‘Mayyas’ as explained by a crew member is an Arabic word that stands for the proud walk of a lioness. The group wowed the judges from the beginning of the season, winning a Golden Buzzer by Sophia Vergara in their first show at the audition itself.
“We want to inspire dancers in Lebanon to keep on dreaming, to keep on working and training, because it’s not impossible no matter where you come from,” Mayyas’ Lara Djibian said in an interview after their win.
