Among seven titles from MAD Solutions' distribution slate, 'Alam' will be screened at the Red Sea International Film Festival.
MAD Solutions has released the official Arabic poster for Firas Khoury’s feature film Alam, ahead of its Arab world premiere at the 2022 Cairo International Film Festival (CIFF), which is scheduled to run from November 13 to 22.
The film is set to feature in the CIFF’s International Competition.
The movie’s poster depicts the film’s protagonist wrapped in the Palestinian flag’s colours, in which a faint image of a flipped-over landscape with a single tree is visible, symbolising a world turned on its head.
Written and directed by Firas Khoury and starring Mahmood Bakri, Sereen Khass, Saleh Bakri, Mohammad Karaki, Ahmad Zaghmouri, and Muhammad Abed Elrahman, Alam follows the story of a Palestinian teenager named Tamer.
Tamer and his friends lead typical teenage lives until one day, he is swept off his feet by the arrival of the beautiful Maysaa. As he grows closer to her, Tamer agrees to take part in a mysterious and life-changing operation dubbed ‘Alam.’
The film is produced by MPM Film, Paprika Films, Philistine Films, Red Sea Film Festival Foundation, Metafora Productions and Lacydon Bay Productions.
MAD Solutions and Lagoonie Film Production are handling the distribution of Alam across the Arab world.
Alam held its world premiere at the 47th edition of the Toronto International Film Festival’s Contemporary World Cinema category, after which, it featured in the Rome Film Festival.
Additionally, Alam is one of seven titles from MAD Solutions’ distribution slate that will be represented in the 2022 Red Sea International Film Festival (RSIFF), where it will be featured in the Festival Favorites category.
