MAD Solutions has sent seven short films for the upcoming Arab Short Film Festival in Beirut, spanning from May 13 to 17. This selection promises a diverse array of stories from the Arab world, each offering a unique perspective and cinematic experience.
The lineup features an array of thought-provoking narratives, including the award-winning Les Chenilles by the Keserwany Sisters, A Calling. From the Desert. To the Sea by Murad Abu Eisheh, Sami Saif Sirelkhatim’s Naima’s Movie, Inès Arsi’s Flesh and Blood, and Mar Mama by Majdi El-Omari.
Les Chenilles, winner of the Golden Bear Best Short Film at the Berlin International Film Festival, explores the connection between two Levantine women working in a Lyon restaurant, screening on May 14.
A Calling. From the Desert. To the Sea follows two sisters on a journey of self-discovery, screening on May 15.
Mar Mama delves into themes of grief and imagination, featuring acclaimed Palestinian actor Ziad Bakri, screening on May 14.
Also featured are Naima’s Movie by Sami Saif Sirelkhatim, Zoo by Tariq Rimawi, Flesh and Blood by Inès Arsi, and By The Sea by Wisam Al-Jafari, each offering unique perspectives.
