The programmes will be available on MBC’s free-to-air TV channels, and online via VOD and SVOD services, Shahid and Shahid VIP.
MBC Group has announced a host of diverse programming, ranging from drama to comedy, to current affairs and lifestyle factual television, with titles catering to all ages, for the month of Ramadan.
With drama and comedy at the forefront, MBC will be showcasing premium Arabic-language content from the GCC, Egypt, the Arab Maghreb, Iraq, and the Levant.
The new content will be available to watch on MBC1, MBC Drama, MBC Masr, MBC Iraq, MBC5, and MBC3 as well as its VOD platform Shahid and subscription service Shahid VIP.
In the drama genre, programmes available to watch on MBC1 include Um Haroon starring Hayat Al Fahd, Souk Al Hareer, starring Bassam Koussa, El Prince starring Mohamed Ramadan, Al Mirath and Valentino.
Shows available to watch on MBC Drama include Shaghaf starring Kuwaiti actress Huda Hussain, Al Kon Fi Kaffa starring Kuwaiti star Elham Al Fadalah, Haya w Banatha starring Basima Hamada, Al Ekhteyar, Forsa Tanya starring Egyptian actress Yasmine Sabry, and Haramlek (Season 2).
The comedy programmes on MBC1 include Makhraj 7, Ramez Magnoun Rasmy – Ramez Galal, Ureem, and Mahadesh Fahem Haga. The lineup will also include Sahraneen Ma3akom Bel Bait a Stay at Home special on MBC1. The show is a late-night variety show, offering various segments, including a phone-in game show, a “feel-good” segment, interviews with some of the biggest Arab stars via video call from their homes.
The talk shows on MBC1 include Al Likaa where Mofeed Al-Nuwaisir will host a series of inspirational personalities from Saudi Arabia and the rest of the region, who have overcome struggles and obstacles to become the people they are today. MBC1 will also show educational and youth-focussed programmes such as Malek B Taweela, and Belati Heya Ahsan.
Cooking shows on MBC1 include Hala B Ramadan, each episode of which features two recipes, along with tips and favourite dishes by some of the Arab world’s favourite celebs.
Among the competition shows, MBC1 will air Eghleb El Sakka presented by Ahmed El Sakka and Razan El Moghrabi. This competitive show sees the Egyptian actor – known for his action scenes in his movies – take on contestants in various challenges, with money donated to various causes in the end.
The MBC Iraq specials include 1+1, Ahlam Al Seneen, Bein Ahlena, Ghayeb Fe Belad Al Aajayeb, Valentino, Eghleb El Sakka, Souk Al Hareer and Mahadesh Fahem Haga.
The MBC Masr specials include Sokkar Zeyada, La’abet El Nesyan, El La’abah, Etnein Fel Sandoo’, Wanesni, Ramez Magnoun Rasmy – Ramez Galal, Eghleb El Sakka, Mahadesh Fahem Haga, Khali Balak Men Fifi, Men El Qalb El Qalb with Eman Ryad, El Hekaya with Amr Adib and Yahdoth Fi Masr.
The MBC5 specials are Salamat Abu Al Banat, Shihadet Milad (Part 1), Etnein Fel Sandoo’, Ramez Magnoun Rasmy – Ramez Galal, Eghleb El Sakka and Khali Balak Men Fifi.
The MBC3 will feature specials like Fawazeer Ramadan, Al Fareeq Noon, Qandeel Al Hekayat, Tasaley Ahla Aalam, Cartoon Danyah, Captain Tsubasa, Rated A for Awesome and RollBots.
On MBC’s VOD platform Shahid and subscription service Shahid VIP, users can get access to MBC’s live satellite channels in full HD quality. Shahid VIP subscribers will get access to all Ramadan series with zero ad breaks and interruptions.
Shahid will offer special episode previews to select TV series, up to 24 hours before its debut on TV. Shahid users can set up multiple profiles on their accounts, making it possible to watch different Ramadan specials simultaneously on different devices. Shahid VIP includes top titles from global brands such as Disney, Pixar, Cartoon Network and Nickelodeon. Kids’ channel Spacetoon will also be available on Shahid VIP during Ramadan.
