MIPTV, the content market trade show held in Cannes, France from 1-4 April will host up to 12 Arab countries, with UAE organisations being among the top participants.
Emirates Media Group and Twofour54 from the UAE, MBC Group from Saudi Arabia and Al Jazeera from Qatar will all be attending the 49th edition that is expected to draw more than 11,000 decision makers from some 100 countries.
The event is expanding its scope to provide digital and mobile providers and advertisers from all over the world with opportunities to be exposed to the latest developments in creating, producing, licensing, financing, distributing state-of-the-art content across all platforms.
Bassil Hajjar, Middle East representative for MIPTV said: The event represents a unique opportunity for Arab producers, film makers and advertising brands in the region to meet up the worlds key decision-makers in these industries and take advantage of the latest breakthroughs, discover future trends and trade content rights on a global level and make use of the opportunities to distribute their programs in different parts of the world.
The 2012 edition will have a special focus on digital innovation and distribution, fiction screenings and co-productions, kids animation and live action, branded entertainment and 3DTV.
Key speakers include Josh Sapan, President and CEO, AMC Networks Inc., who will deliver a Media Mastermind keynote address on the value of original programming and how to create entertainment brands of distinction in an increasingly competitive world.
Jonathan Mildenhall, vice president global advertising strategy and content excellence for The Coca-Cola Company, will highlight key strategies to create compelling content that engages audiences in new and innovative ways and builds emotional connections across multiple consumer touch points.
