'One World: Together At Home’ will show people who are affected by COVID-19 and will also celebrate and support brave healthcare workers doing life-saving work on the front lines.
National Geographic and National Geographic Abu Dhabi will be airing the One World: Together At Home show, a globally televised and streamed special in support of the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic on April 19 on both channels.
While the initial show was aired at 4 am, there will be a rerun today on National Geographic at 1 pm local time and on National Geographic Abu Dhabi at 9 pm local time. The global special is also streaming at 9 pm local time on YouTube and Facebook.
National Geographic Abu Dhabi will air this special event in view of its humanitarian message, which is aligned with the directives of the United Arab Emirates, recognised as the ‘homeland of humanity’.
Launched by international advocacy organisation Global Citizen, and the World Health Organisation, One World: Together At Home is a first-of-its-kind global broadcast event to celebrate the heroic efforts of community health workers in the global fight to end COVID-19. The broadcast will feature stories from frontline healthcare workers on the COVID response, commitments from philanthropists, governments and corporations to support and equip frontline healthcare workers around the world, with masks, gowns and other vital equipment, and to local charities that provide food, shelter, and healthcare to those that need it most.
The virtual participation of the world’s biggest stars in this historic event also raises awareness about the importance of social distancing during this time and expresses solidarity with and among all those affected by the coronavirus.
