MK Distribution, a part of Ukraine-based MK Media Group, has announced the latest purchases from their content catalogue.
Nat Geo Kids Abu Dhabi has purchased the edutainment programme Whos there? that released in early 2018 and was produced jointly with Svoya Production. The Ukrainian studios created an animation show for both kids and adult audiences that consists of 12 stories about different countries with facts, sometimes funny, about their history.
The company also reported buyers for edutainment titles produced by MeetMinds Studio: Mouse Science and Materials for life.
Discovery Networks Asia-Pacific picked up Mouse Science for its Central and South Asian territories, as did Czech Republic TV. Released in 2017, Mouse Science is an edutainment puppet show for kids aged between 4-7 that takes place in a fictional science lab. Two mice together with a smart dog that is real, answer questions commonly asked by children around everyday problems.
Commenting on the acquisitions, Artem Zapolskyi, Head of Sales and Acquisitions Department said: We appreciate the interest in our programmes from such powerful players in the television arena and the confidence they have shown in our work. It was a challenge for us and we gained experience while negotiating with both companies. MK Media Group is more than happy that our leading titles will be watched by audiences of NatGeo and Discovery.
Factual programme Materials for Life, that describes the lifetime story of 26 most used types of materials, will be aired on TVB channel based in Hong Kong.
Zapolskyi added: We have teamed up with partners from different regions including Silver Wolf International (Singapore). We are confident more such deals will come through in the near future.
