Based on Nobel laureate Orhan Pamuk’s novel, the story dives deep into love, memory and longing against the backdrop of 1970s Turkey.
Netflix has released a first-look clip from Museum of Innocence, its upcoming Turkish mini-series adaptation of Orhan Pamuk’s celebrated novel, confirming a global launch date of February 13, 2026. The nine-episode drama stars Selahattin Paşalı in the lead role of Kemal, alongside Eylül Lize Kandemir as Füsun, bringing to the screen one of modern literature’s most haunting love stories.
The newly unveiled teaser offers a brief but emotionally charged glimpse into the series, showing Kemal and Füsun walking on opposite sides of a bustling Istanbul street in the 1970s. As they exchange lingering looks across the road, their expressions shift from tenderness to uncertainty before they disappear in different directions, capturing the longing and inner turmoil that define their relationship.
Based on Pamuk’s multimillion-selling novel, Museum of Innocence explores themes of love, memory, obsession and regret, set against the social and cultural backdrop of 1970s Turkey. The story follows Kemal, the son of a wealthy Istanbul family, and Füsun, his poorer and more distant relative, whose intense but ill-fated romance drives Kemal into a lifelong fixation. His devotion leads him to preserve everyday objects connected to Füsun — from earrings to cigarette butts — raising unsettling questions about the nature of love and possession.
The series shares its title not only with Pamuk’s novel but also with the real Museum of Innocence in Istanbul, which the Nobel Prize-winning author established in 2012 to house objects inspired by the book. Pamuk himself is credited as a writer on the adaptation, ensuring a close connection between the literary work and its screen version.
The cast also includes Oya Unustası, Tilbe Saran, Bülent Emin Yarar, Gülçin Kültür Şahin, Ercan Kesal, Hasan Erdem, Zeynep Dinsel, Tolga İskit, Onur Ünsal, Jessica Taşçı, Enes Danış, Eren Kabatepe, Aybike Turan, Tayfun Gül, Cem Bayurgil, Tugay Erdoğan, Ahmet Yalçın, İskender Bağcılar, Neslihan Arslan, Bora Akın and Cansel Elçin.
The series is directed by Zeynep Günay, known for her work on high-profile Turkish dramas, with Ertan Kurtulan serving as screenwriter and Kerem Çatay producing. Leading Turkish studio Ay Yapım is behind the production, promising high production values and rich period detail.
Positioned as one of Netflix’s most anticipated international releases of early 2026, Museum of Innocence adds to the streamer’s growing slate of Turkish originals, aiming to bring a deeply local story — and a globally renowned novel — to audiences worldwide.
