Netflix has unveiled the latest trailer for Saudi Arabia’s upcoming comedy series, Tahir’s House, directed by Saudi director Sultan al-Abdulmohsen. The show delves into the lives of a dysfunctional family striving to rejuvenate their failing fish shop in Jeddah, which faces foreclosure.
The series stars Mohammad Bakhsh, al-Hashimi al-Faisal, Mohammed alFaza, and Joud Sofyani.
Scheduled for release on September 6, 2023, Tahir’s House is a six-part series that revolves around a family of aspiring entrepreneurs grappling with a critical situation: their fish store is on the brink of bankruptcy. The Saudi family embarks on a comedic journey as they transition from the world of “surf” to that of “turf.” A fortuitous idea propels them into an unexpected venture, but the road ahead is strewn with challenges, mishaps, and plenty of humorous escapades. Amidst the chaos, the series explores themes of sacrifice, brotherhood, and familial bonds, highlighting that their true treasure might just be one another.
The cast includes Mohammed Bakhash (Jumaa), the father and the head of the household; Alhashimi Alfaisal (Yousef), the passionate yet perpetually luckless son; Mohammed Alfaraa (Karim), Yousef’s mischievous partner-in-crime and nurturing sibling; Joud Alsufyani (Azizah), the intelligent and determined daughter on a mission to conquer the world; and Naimah Ahmad (Lutfiya), the spirited and fearless grandmother.
