A comprehensive survey from the Arab Advisors Group, that probed the media consumption habits in the UAE, has revealed that news and movies are the most popular types of TV programmes watched in the UAE. The survey that concluded in August 2013 has also revealed that 40% of respondents who have a pay-TV subscription are subscribed to cable TV.
The survey report, UAE Media Survey 2013, provides insights into the broadcast and online media consumption habits in the country. The 57 pages and 61 exhibits of the survey cover television, radio, internet, online gaming and specialised gaming devices usage patterns.
The survey also showed that there are high levels of social media adoption in the UAE. Facebook was the most popular social media platform in the country, with 80.8% of respondents who use the Internet reporting having an account on the platform.
