ONE CONNXT has completed the extension of its broadcast video transport agreement with Arab Radio and Television (ART). The extension comes following the conclusion of the initial three-year agreement originally inked in 2012.
As with the original agreement, ONE CONNXT will provide bi-directional transport services and 24/7 monitoring of ARTs high-quality broadcast video programming originated between MISC Media Centre in Cairo and media centres in Amman and Avezzano. Each year, ONE CONNXT delivers nearly 1,000 hours of regularly scheduled content including weekly programmes and during Ramadan when 240 hours of special daily programming is transported.
Commenting on the deal, Dave Almstead, CEO, ONE CONNXT, said: We value our important relationship with ART and are pleased to continue being of service in their video transport operations in the Middle East. ART has long been known as a pioneer of media in the region. We are committed to supporting ARTs efforts.
Aref Dadan, ART Booking Department Manager in Amman, added: We used ONE CONNXT as the main method to send material between broadcast centres in Italy, Jordan and Egypt, all of which are mission critical in our in efforts to best serve our loyal viewers.
The system has performed well and we depend on it to move hundreds of hours of content including during the holy month of Ramadan. This is one of the best technical investments we have made at ART. ONE CONNXT has given us significant savings with a very small investment.”
