Qatar telco Ooredoo has launched Ooredoo TV, a replacement for the IPTV service Mozaic TV, claiming to be the first commercial ultra HD 4K service in the region.
Combining apps, on-demand and live television in one set-top box (STB), delivered by fibre-to-the-home and using Wi-Fi for multiscreen options, the company says the service has no upfront charges, no equipment costs and no ongoing contracts.
Ooredoo TV will deliver more power, more choice and a smoother experience for customers and deploy the full strength of the Ooredoo Supernet. Our Mozaic TV customers will be amazed at how easy it is to upgrade to Ooredoo TV, and will be delighted by the quality of service when they do, said Waleed Al Sayed, CEO, Ooredoo Qatar.
In addition to Arab, Asian and international content, the service offers Ooredoos Movies on Demand library and unlimited access to the Ooredoo TV Club, which provides content from ABC Studios and Disney. It can also deliver UHD 4K content for subscribers.
The 260,000 homes in Qatar already fitted with Ooredoo Fibre will be able to self-install the new Ooredoo TV service.
