As part of the agreement, the Film Committee and Company 3 will jointly research, explore and evaluate the development of a post-production and visual effects studio operated by Company 3 in Qatar.
The Film Committee at Media City Qatar has entered a major partnership with Company 3, the post-production and visual effects specialist, to establish a dedicated post-production and VFX studio in Doha. Announced during the Doha Film Festival 2025, the agreement marks a significant step in the country’s efforts to strengthen its position as the region’s rising media hub, supported by advanced infrastructure, creative talent and a rapidly expanding ecosystem.
Under the agreement, Media City Qatar and Company 3 will jointly explore and assess the development of a high-end, Company 3-operated post-production and VFX facility in Doha, forming the initial phase of a long-term collaboration. Company 3 will contribute its technical, creative and operational expertise to lay the groundwork for a world-class post-production environment in the Middle East. In parallel, the Film Committee will facilitate the initiative through structured funding and logistical support, aligned with Qatar’s ambition to become a central production and post-production destination for the Middle East and Africa.
Headquartered in Los Angeles, Company 3 is internationally recognised for its work on major films and hit series, with credits including Wicked: For Good, F1, Superman, Frankenstein and the Stranger Things Season 5. Through this partnership, the company will introduce its global capabilities to the region, helping design advanced workflows, train emerging talent, and provide access to cutting-edge production tools.
Media City Qatar will work closely with local stakeholders and government partners to ensure the project supports national creative economy objectives. Its responsibilities span operational assistance, coordination, and funding mechanisms throughout the exploration phase, ensuring the collaboration delivers impactful results across creative, technological, and talent development fronts.
