The Lebanese-French production delves into societal divides, exploring love across different ages and races.
Dubai-based entertainment company Rise Studios has announced that its latest feature film, Love Conquers All, is currently in production. Written by filmmaker Danielle Arbid, the film stars Palestinian actress Hiam Abbass alongside rising talent Amine Benrachid.
Set in Beirut, Love Conquers All follows the poignant love story of Suzanne, a widowed woman in her sixties and Osmane, a young Sudanese migrant. Against the backdrop of societal expectations and adversity, their relationship delves into themes of resilience, cultural barriers, and the power of human connection. The film is a co-production between Rise Studios, Easy Riders Films and Abbout Productions, addressing timely social issues such as migration and identity through a bold cinematic lens.
The film is produced by Omar El Kadi and Nadia Turincev for the Paris-based Easy Riders Films, Georges Schoucair for Abbout Productions in Lebanon and Ziad Srouji for Rise Studios. It has been pre-acquired by ART for the Middle East and has received support from the Hubert Bals + Europe Fund, the Image de la Francophonie Fund and the Red Sea Souk Jury Special Mention Award. The 21-day shoot is taking place at Montjoie Studios in the Parisian district of Saint Denis, with acclaimed cinematographer Céline Bozon, known for her Lumière-nominated work on Félicité (2018), leading the film’s visual direction.
Amanda Turnbull, Founder and CEO of Rise Studios, said: “Global demand for culturally grounded, authentic storytelling has increased significantly in recent years, with Arabic-language content seeing a remarkable 13-fold rise in popularity since 2020. Love Conquers All answers this demand by delivering a deeply moving story that not only elevates impactful narratives from the region but also connects them with audiences regionally and globally.”
The film is set for release in the second quarter of 2025, with French distribution handled by JHR Films.
