The partnership also involves producing original content and reimagining several of Rotana’s titles to suit contemporary digital viewing habits.
Rotana Media and Scene have announced a partnership to introduce short-form series, known as Micro Dramas, to audiences across the Arab world for the first time. Presented in a vertical format tailored for mobile viewing, the collaboration aims to produce original short-form content while adapting select Rotana titles to suit today’s evolving digital consumption habits.
This partnership marks a major leap in the evolution of Arabic drama, bringing storytelling closer to younger, mobile-first audiences and paving the way for a new era of creative expression in the region.
Nada Makhzoum, CEO of Rotana Channels, said that Rotana has always strived to evolve alongside its audience and the platforms they engage with. “Our partnership with Scene extends this vision by empowering Arab creativity through new, innovative storytelling formats that reach viewers wherever they are, in the way they prefer to watch,” she added.
Sayed Finianos, Founder and CEO of Scene, described the collaboration as a milestone for the regional industry. “Rotana’s deep expertise and solid position in the Arab media landscape bring tremendous value to this agreement. Together, we aim to introduce a new generation of short-form dramas for Arab youth, combining high production quality with the spirit of the digital age,” he commented.
Through this alliance, Rotana Media and Scene are not only reshaping Arabic drama production but also opening new opportunities for regional talent to create stories that resonate with a digitally native generation.
