Samsung Electronics Co has introduced the first 3D LED HDTV monitors, the 950 Series, in the region. The new monitor line-up incorporates Samsung’s proprietary 3D technology with an asymmetrical design and TV tuner capability.
The Samsung 950 Series can be used as a computer monitor, a social media hub and as a TV, allowing users to integrate their entertainment, work, gaming and computing activities in one place.
Using Samsung’s 3D Hyper Real Engine technology that converts 2D content to 3D, the new monitors optimise colour, contrast and motion. With the Mega DCR and LED BLU technologies, the 950 Series monitors provide high definition picture quality with superior contrast, richer colours, deeper blacks and sharper images, claims the company.
Speaking about the new monitors, Anupam Birla, business head of Samsung Gulf Electronics’ Visual Display Unit stated: The Samsung 950 Series 3D LED HDTV monitor line-up is truly a remarkable piece of engineering that combines innovative technologies, state of art design and excellent picture quality with the added benefit of a TV Tuner capability.”
The monitors allow users to watch a variety of 3D content due to their compatibility with different consoles such as the 3D BD player, 3D game console, 3D digital camera, 3D camcorder, computer and TV.
The new monitor line-up is also the first in the industry that enables users to directly access various applications on their monitor without turning on their PC using the Samsung Smart Hub feature.
The monitors refresh the screen at 120Hz, two times more than a standard 2D monitor while the Digital Noise Filter technology clears out the noise from compressed low quality images. The Magic Angle provides a wide viewing angle of up to 170 degrees.
The monitors’ connectivity options include AllShare, ConnectShare, Smart Hub and multiple input ports. AllShare allows users to share content from various devices using DLNA technology.
