Qatar-based satellite company Es’hailsat and Egyptian satellite company Nilesat have inked a cooperation agreement and strategic partnership to deliver joint satellite services to their customer base. This collaboration enables customers of both entities to leverage their combined satellite fleet and ground infrastructure for enhanced connectivity solutions.
Ali bin Ahmed Al Kuwari, CEO of Es’hailsat, highlighted that the agreement responds to the rapid economic growth in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region. He emphasised the surge in demand from commercial and governmental clients, particularly driven by global sporting events, aiming to elevate service standards and maintain global competitiveness.
Major General Sameh Katta, Chairman of Board of Directors and Managing Director of Nilesat, expressed enthusiasm for the partnership with Es’hailsat. He underscored the Egyptian Satellites Company’s commitment to providing comprehensive satellite solutions to customers across MENA. Katta noted that the collaboration signifies a significant milestone in the regional satellite industry, emphasising that by pooling expertise and resources, Nilesat and Es’hailsat have devised a robust plan to meet evolving customer needs and foster economic growth in the region.
Es’hailsat, headquartered in Doha, offers satellite, broadcast, transport, and managed services. Operating from its infrastructure, including two satellites positioned at 25.5/26 degrees east, and ground stations, Eshailsat delivers reliable and secure communication services.
Established in 1996, Nilesat delivers satellite services across the Middle East and Africa, providing reliable and high-quality services to its clientele. The company operates two ground stations, located in the 6th of October City and Alexandria, and manages multiple geosynchronous communications satellites centred at 7 degrees west. Nilesat broadcasts over 700 services, catering to diverse communication needs in the region.
