Mora replaces Rick Bergman, who was named CEO of Kymeta in March of last year.
Kymeta has appointed Manny Mora as its new President and Chief Executive Officer, effective immediately, marking a pivotal step in advancing the companys mission to provide resilient, secure and mobile connectivity solutions for the US Department of Defence (DoD) and allied governments.
Mora joins Kymeta after an illustrious four-decade career at General Dynamics Mission Systems, where he led Space and Intelligence Systems and worked closely with the DoD, the Intelligence Community, the Department of Homeland Security and international defence partners. His extensive experience in space and defence technology positions him to strengthen Kymetas growing role as a key player in secure communications for national security operations.
Nicole Piasecki, Executive Chair of the Board, commented: “As the defence community modernises its command-and-control infrastructure, Kymeta is uniquely positioned to deliver mobile SATCOM solutions that perform in the most demanding environments. Manny Mora brings the operational depth and strategic clarity to scale our impact and strengthen our role as a trusted partner to national security customers.”
Kymetas advanced technology portfolio is built on proprietary metamaterials-based antenna systems, which power its electronically steered, flat-panel terminals. These terminals provide seamless, multi-orbit connectivity for mobile users, combining reliability, resilience and rapid deployment capabilities critical advantages for modern warfighters and mission-critical operators.
In his first statement as CEO, Mora said: “Im honoured to lead Kymeta at a time when secure, mobile connectivity is mission-critical. Our breakthrough technology is already transforming how defense and government customers communicate across domains. My focus is on accelerating innovation, expanding our deployment footprint and ensuring our solutions meet the evolving needs of our national security partners.”
Mora succeeds Rick Bergman, who will assist in the leadership transition. Under Bergmans tenure, Kymeta achieved several major milestones, including the launch of the Goshawk u8 terminal and breakthroughs in multi-band SATCOM integration within a single aperture. We thank Rick for his leadership and contributions, Piasecki added.
The appointment comes shortly after Kymeta was selected as the multi-orbit SATCOM provider for the US Armys Next Generation Command & Control (NGC2) Pilot programme. Utilising Kymetas Osprey u8 terminal, the project will enhance distributed operations and situational awareness for military personnel.
As the company enters this new chapter under Moras leadership, Kymeta remains focused on expanding its software-defined, multi-network SATCOM solutions that integrate satellite and cellular systems to ensure uninterrupted, high-performance connectivity for defense and government missions worldwide.
