The Kenya Space Agency (KSA) has signed a cooperation agreement with Expertise France (EF) to boost space-related collaborations. The partnership aims to strengthen Kenyas space capabilities through capacity building, promoting Earth Observation (EO) data usage across various sectors, and fostering innovation ecosystems. The partnership includes light infrastructure projects, and supporting universities, community organisations, and private businesses in applying advanced geospatial technologies to address sustainable development challenges.
The partnership will also oversee the establishment of an EO Data Lab under the Data Governance in Africa initiative, supported by the African Union and Team Europe Initiative (TEI). The lab will further bolster Kenyas efforts to address developmental challenges through space-driven solutions. The partnership underscores the shared commitment of both organisations to leverage cutting-edge space technologies and innovative solutions to create transformative impact in Kenya and beyond.
