Apart from Jordan, the partnership also initially covers Côte d'Ivoire, Senegal and the Democratic Republic of Congo, with the aim of gradually extending to all countries in the region.

Orange Jordan has made history by becoming the first telecommunications provider in the country to offer satellite broadband services to both consumers and businesses, using the Eutelsat Konnect satellite. The milestone follows a strategic multi-year agreement signed last month between Orange and Eutelsat, aimed at delivering satellite internet across Africa and the Middle East.
This new offering brings high-speed internet accesswith download speeds of up to 100 Mbpseven to the most remote areas of Jordan. According to Eutelsat, the launch of the KVHTS (Ka-band Very High Throughput Satellite) service marks a significant step in expanding reliable digital connectivity to underserved regions. The technology provides a simple, flexible solution for users in off-grid or isolated areas, further demonstrating satellites critical role in narrowing the global digital divide.
The initiative is part of a broader regional deployment strategy under the Orange-Eutelsat partnership, which also initially includes Côte dIvoire, Senegal and the Democratic Republic of Congo. The long-term goal is to extend satellite connectivity across all Orange-served markets in the region, enhancing digital inclusion and access to essential online services.
Jérôme Hénique, CEO of Orange Africa and Middle East, talked about the strategic importance of the partnership, stating that it aligns with Oranges mission to connect all territories and support digital equity across the region. He noted that Orange currently serves over 160m customers in Africa and the Middle East and is committed to delivering sustainable, locally compliant connectivity solutions.
Cyril Dujardin, President of the Connectivity Business Unit at Eutelsat Group, highlighted the powerful synergy between Eutelsats satellite infrastructure and Oranges strong regional presence. He affirmed that the collaboration provides a robust and affordable solution to meet accessibility challenges, especially in areas where traditional infrastructure is limited or unavailable.
With this launch, Orange Jordan sets a precedent for the countrys telecommunications sector, offering a transformative solution that brings high-speed internet access to areas previously left offline and laying the groundwork for wider regional connectivity.
